A DJ's Standpoint!
As DJs, we are required to provide guests with an unforgettable experience. One they will never forget, but what is it really like to be a Professional DJ? I have been in the industry for 5 1/2 years. Many may consider me still a rookie but I am known for rocking events from weddings receptions to private events. Being a DJ requires more work than what is seen by a typical person. From the moment an email is received,we treat client's like royalty! Once the initial email is sent between myself and the client, the next step in the process is to setup a consultation. This insures that we cover all bases of the event, answer any questions and concerns, go over the planning process, and discuss our services we offer. What really makes a DJ is one who can plan and coordinate your event in such a way as to create a memorable event for you and your guests. Although the duration of the event is usually between 3-5 hours, we spend atleast 8-12 hours of planning and making sure all aspects and small details are well taken care of. A Professional DJ should have and do the following:
1) The DJ should have a written contract agreement. This is a legal document which protects the DJ and the client in case any issues should arise.
2) The DJ should be fully licensed, registered and insured.
3) A professional will always have backup equipment. It's that important! Your event is special. Why would you risk your day to someone without backup equipment?
4) Pro-Grade equipment. (CDJs, Turntables, etc)
5) Know how to read a crowd
6) Be one who will provide you with what you are looking for. Your specific needs should always be of TOP priority!
This is the viewpoint from the eyes of a DJ. If you have any questions about taking your event to the next level or are interested in entertainment for your next event, give us a call at (919) 675-0113 or email us at info@DJSensationsOnline.com
