Questions To Ask Yourself When Hiring A DJ!

1) Is the price or "deal" that I received too good to be true?

-If a price is too good to be true, then usually it is. When hiring a DJ at incredibly low prices, what you are doing is setting yourself up for low quality service. That DJ will not be able to deliver the quality that one would expect from a Professional who is trained, experienced and appropriately priced.

2) How long has the DJ actually been performing/been in business?

-This is a critical question, because while many DJs "claim" to have worked X amount of years in the industry, this could easily be untrue. That is why it is crucial that you ask how many events the DJ has performed annually, etc.

3) Does the DJ use Professional equipment including backups?

-Any DJ should use pro grade equipment. Generally this includes turntable, CDJs or controller based systems, wireless mics, a laptop, state-of-the-art sound, and lighting.

4) Does the DJ have a contract agreement?

-The DJ should always have a contract. This is a 2 page legal document protecting you and the DJ should any problems arise. It's crucial that he/she has this!
